Work Breakdown Structure

A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) organizes the total project scope into a hierarchy of deliverables and work packages. The template helps break the project’s work into manageable tasks at the lowest level needed for planning and control.  It defines and organizes the project scope based on the work described in the project scope statement. It breaks deliverables into smaller, manageable components. The lowest level, the work package, groups activities that can be scheduled, estimated, monitored, and controlled.
